5 Reasons You Should Join a Drop-In Game and 2 You Shouldn't

Hello, adventurers! If you've been contemplating joining a drop-in Dungeons & Dragons game, you've come to the right place. Today, we're going to explore the top five reasons why you should dive into a drop-in game, and a couple of reasons why it might not be the right fit for you. So, grab your dice, and let's get started!

Why You Should Join a Drop-In Game

1. No Future Commitments

One of the best things about drop-in games is the flexibility they offer. You can play what you want, when you want, without the hassle of scheduling a regular game. It's the perfect solution for those with unpredictable schedules or those who just want to enjoy a game without any long-term commitments.

2. You Choose Your Path

Unlike most campaigns that railroad you into a particular path, drop-in games give you and your fellow adventurers the freedom to choose your own missions. This means you have more control over your gaming experience and can pursue the adventures that interest you the most.

3. Meet New People

Drop-in games are a fantastic way to meet new people who share your interest in D&D. You'll get to play with a diverse group of folks from the area, making new friends and creating memorable experiences along the way.

4. Experiment with Different Characters

If you love creating characters, drop-in games are your playground. You can create as many characters as your heart desires and try them all out. It's a great way to explore different character builds and find out what you enjoy playing the most.

5. Easy to Join and Organize

Drop-in games are easy to join and organize. Whether you're joining our game here in Denver (sign up here) or another West Marches style game, you'll find that it's simple to get involved. Many games organize online and meet over Zoom or in person, making it incredibly accessible for everyone.

Why You Might Not Want to Join a Drop-In Game

While there are plenty of reasons to join a drop-in game, it's not for everyone. Here are a couple of reasons why it might not be the right fit for you:

1. You Prefer a Regular Schedule

If you're someone who prefers a regular game with a consistent schedule, drop-in games might not be the best fit. These games are more self-organized and don't play regularly, although we do host at least two sessions per month.

2. You Want a Consistent Group

Drop-in games feature a wide variety of players and a different configuration in each session. If you're looking to build rapport with a consistent group of players, it might not be the right space. However, don't let that deter you - there's still plenty of camaraderie and inside jokes to be had!

Ready to Roll?

Whether you're a seasoned D&D veteran or a newbie just dipping your toes into this magical world, drop-in games offer a unique and flexible way to enjoy the game. They're a great place for beginners to experiment and find out what they like. So why not give it a try? We'd love to have you join us for an adventure. Happy gaming!
